Dec 27th update, with more flags!

Dec 27, 2020

I hope everyone has had a Merry Christmas and happy holidays. I managed to get through my Christmas without gifting anything Chinese made, but I was forced to not gift any electronics. We pushed another update today, where we add an American flag to the product pictures of products we have identified as US made.  It looks like:

It will show up on the search results page, as well as on all the product pages.

We had planned this first actually, before our extension bar. However we found that frequently there wouldn’t be any American made products on the first couple pages of the Amazon search results, so we built our extension bar instead. At this point we’ve got a lot of American made products identified and got some feedback this would be helpful to our users.

We also added some options, which you can access by clicking on the extension in the top right. You can choose to display or not to display both the extension bar and the flags.

For our premium subscribers we have also made a lot of improvements to the popover over the past month. 3 weeks ago we pushed our first popover only update, which made it work a lot better, and today we made a few more improvements.

At this point we’ve got a couple more improvements to make to the extension, as well as a few hundred thousand more products that will be added in the next few weeks. We will then work on a larger set of changes which won’t be visible for a month or two.

As always, If you’ve got any feedback, feel free to let me know.

Merry Christmas and have a happy new year!
